The most common myths — explained clearly

If you’re unsure what’s true, you’re not alone. Here are straight answers to the questions I’m asked most.

Myth: Botox freezes your face

Fact: When dosed and placed correctly, anti-wrinkle treatment softens lines while keeping natural expression. “Frozen” results usually come from over-treatment.

Myth: Fillers always look obvious

Fact: Subtle volumising can refresh without changing your features. The goal is balance and proportion — not a different face.

Myth: It’s unsafe unless a doctor does it

Fact: Safety comes from training, assessment and scope of practice. I’m an Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Independent Prescriber with long-standing NHS experience and specific training in injectables.

Myth: Downtime is guaranteed

Fact: Most people return to normal activity the same day. You’ll get personalised aftercare to minimise swelling and bruising.

Myth: It’s addictive

Fact: Results wear off gradually. You choose whether and when to repeat treatment. My approach is conservative and evidence-based.

Myth: One size fits all

Fact: Every face and medical history is different. Your plan is tailored in consultation — sometimes the best plan is to do nothing.

FAQs

Where is the clinic?
Appointments are by consultation in a private clinic room near Entry Hill, Bath. Precise directions are sent with your booking confirmation.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes — there is on-street parking in surrounding roads. Your confirmation email includes practical parking tips for your appointment time.
Can I come with a friend or supporter?
Yes — you’re welcome to bring one adult companion for support. For safety and privacy, I’m unable to accommodate children under 16 in the clinic room during treatment.
Do you offer home visits?
Yes — where appropriate, I provide home visits across BaNES. We’ll confirm suitability during consultation and ensure the setting is safe for treatment.
Who performs the treatment?
I do. I’m an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (MSK) and Independent Prescriber, HCPC-registered, with specific training in Botox and fillers.
What if I’m not sure I’m ready?
There’s no pressure to proceed. The consultation is about assessing, informing and agreeing a plan that suits you — which may be to wait or to do nothing.
Aftercare and follow-up
You’ll receive clear written aftercare. If needed, we’ll arrange a follow-up review to check progress and answer questions.
